#BuildCodeGo at #RemakeDays

Remake Learning Days is an innovative learning festival for families and youth across the U.S. rooted in the Campaign for Grade Level Reading. This year we are hosting a #BuildCodeGo event in Sarasota for selected families, and three virtual #AppliedDigitalSkills workshops for adults!

Ideas + Partnerships = Limitless Impact

We knew we wanted to be involved with #RemakeDays 2023 after joining the inaugural 2022 festivities. With support from The Patterson Foundation, and sponsorship from the Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center, connecting even more people to digital spaces became a reality in Sarasota-again!

Our #BuildCodeGo event begins with asset-limited families with 4th - 8th grade students without a home computer, who are invited to attend the event through the generosity of an anonymous device sponsor based in Sarasota, Florida. Sitting side by side, parents and their children will start by unboxing a new Kano PC and putting it together.

Since the Kano PC is useful to users all ages, parents and their children will create a Gmail account and be introduced to free Google Workspace learning content to increase their productivity skills they can apply in practical ways such as family budgeting and calendar syncing, electronic photo albums, resume building, and much, much more!

Learn how your Gmail account unlocks a world of free software designed to help anyone from upper elementary students to older adults use technology at work and daily life through real-world projects. This workshop is ideal for educators, workforce development professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone who is interested in teaching and learning practical computer skills anywhere, anytime.
